Indian Wedding Decoration | Table Decor For Fall Weddings

All right, this is for those of you who are planning on having a lovely Fall wedding. I like Fall weddings because it is neither too hot nor too cold outside. I also like the striking colors that are associated with Fall - orange, red and yellow.

The above colors form the color scheme by which Fall wedding decorations are chosen. Sometimes the outdoors are brought indoors, with items from nature being used as decoration.

This article showcases inspirational ideas on Fall wedding centerpieces and table decor. Enjoy :)

This is a luxurious and grand table setting decor with a gold and red color scheme. The predominant flowers used are red roses. Placing red roses on every table can get costly, but if you are planning a grand affair than this decor, as seen in the picture, is guaranteed to impress.

This table decor setting also uses roses, but in a less extravagent way. Red, pink and orange roses are placed in little crystal or glass bowls, and rose petals are strewn around the table.

This is a lovely table decor design suitable for a lunch reception. The flower colors are a combination of red and orange colors that are vibrant, bright and cheery. The orange table covers is offset by gold plates. Remarkable!

This shows multiple table decor and centerpiece ideas suitable for the Fall wedding dinner reception. The features include candles in tall crystal candlesticks, little crystal bowls, and seasonal fall flowers.

Choosing Flowers for Your Indian Wedding in the Fall

It's still nice and warm in many parts of the US and the UK. But soon Fall will be upon us, and the leaves will be changing into beautiful hues of oranges, reds and yellows.

If you are planning on being wed in the Fall, please read on for some inspiration and ideas for the perfect Indian Fall wedding.

This article focuses on choosing the perfect Fall flowers for your wedding. Keep in mind that the flowers will set an overall theme for your Fall wedding, so taking the time to select them is crucial.

I like pairing flowers that are in contrast with the color of the wedding outfits. For instance, if you are choosing to wear a red toned wedding saree or wedding lehnga, then I would pick for your wedding bouquet something neutral. And vice versa.

Fall Flowers that are in Season include these popular choices:

Wedding Bouquet - White Asters
A Lovely Choice for Indian Brides with Vibrant Colored Wedding Outfits

Wedding Bouquet - Vibrant Red Chrysanthemums
The Perfect Choice for Indian Brides with Light Colored Wedding Outfits

Wedding Bouquet - Pink Zinnias
Pair This With Wedding Outfits that Are in Gold or Brown Tones

Wedding Bouquet - Red Gerbera Daisies

Wedding Bouquet - Orange Marigolds
Pair This Wedding Bouquet With an Ivory/Gold Wedding Outfit.

Wedding Bouquet - Red, White or Blue Roses
A Simple Red and White Rose Bouquet is Always Elegant
And Going with Something Unique Like Blue Roses Will Defintely Be Bold

Wedding Bouquet - Sunflowers
Striking Color for a Grand Indian Fall Wedding

Indian Wedding Lehnga Designs

Brides in South Asia typically favor red wedding outfits - sarees or lehngas for their wedding day. The lehnga is a two-piece top and skirt outfit as you will see in the pictures below. It is worn with a long and usually heavily embroidered scarf (dupatta). The bride will place the dupatta over her head.

The vibrant red is also favored in other Eastern cultures such as China. Choosing the red color as a wedding outfit over other colors must be rooted in its various cultural expression for wanting the bride to be the bright center of attraction. As she should be.

Here are some really cool Indian wedding lehnga design ideas. Hopefully you are inspired by these designs, and will use them to design your own wedding lehnga outfit to be the center of attraction.

Red Bridal Lehnga Designs

This is a striking red and gold wedding lehnga. There is elaborate designs on the full skirt that is clearly detailed work.

Shimmering burgundy wedding lehnga with bright silver embroidery and detail work.

This one is really cool. I like the fishtail skirt, and the wide neckline of the top. It is a modern take on the traditional full skirted wedding lehnga. But you need to be in shape to carry this style off well.

Silk wedding lehnga with heavy embroidery and detail work. Exquiste.

This is a Pakistani traditional wedding lehnga. The red has been lighten so that is is a near pink (salmon) colour, which is in fashion.

Stylish Bridal Sarees for an Indian Wedding

Bridal Sarees

Indian women have traditionally worn the saree for their wedding. Today, some brides opt for the lehgna choli (a skirt and blouse) wedding outfit, but many brides still prefer to wear the bridal saree. The bridal saree makes an Indian bride look elegant.

If you have the added benefit of being tall, then wearing a saree is all the more better for you as it adds a certain flowy grace to your wedding look.

Sarees today have a lot of work done on them - zari, embroidery, organza, zardosi, sequence, cut work, mirror work, patchwork, pearl work, kasab, kundan are just some of the different kinds of work that are found on a bridal saree.

You will want to pick out something suitable for you - can you handle a saree that has a lot of work on it, and hence heavy to wear, or would you prefer something of a lighter material.

A darker complexioned bride would do well to pick out lighter colours, as dark colours have the effect of making you look too dark. You will want something to brighten your look. And fairer brides should stay away from light colours, or risk looking washed out.

Here are some bridal saree styles that are in fashion. You can't go wrong if you picked out something like the below for your wedding.

Traditional South Indian Wedding Hairstyles

Long waist length hair is favored in traditional South Indian cultures. You will not find many South Indian girls with short hair-dos in India. And the preference for long waist length hair is also very much evident in South Indian weddings.

If a South Indian bride-to-be has short hair, or hair that is not thick enough, hair extensions are used to enhance the nnatural hair, which is usually braided.

The method for South Indian wedding hairstyle is relatively uncomplicated.

Please take a look at the pictures as we explain how you can achieve a traditional South Indian wedding hairstyle.

The hair is pulled back from the face, and parted at the center. Usually gold jewels are used to adorn the center parting, as seen in the pictures. Jasmine flowers are attached at the back of the hair.

Hair extensions are added to the natural hair to make it look thick and long. The hair is braided and flowers are twined around the hair braid.

It is no easy task having this wedding hairdo. This wedding hairstyle is heavy to carry. And is meant only for the actual wedding ceremony. If you are heading to your wedding reception with this hair-do, you might have to just sit down and look pretty at the table. Walking up and down with this heavy hairstyle would get you all hot and tired :)

South Asian Ethnic Design Wedding Cakes

Indian South Asian Inspired Wedding Cakes

You cannot have a wedding without a wedding cake! And one of the more impressive things that your wedding guests will remember, apart from your beautiful self in your lovely wedding gown, is the wedding cake.

An interesting trend I have noticed in the past few years or so in wedding cake designs for the South Asian community is ethnic inspired "embroidered" cake. That is, the cakes are decorated with ethnic inspired motifs. Some of them resemble embroidery you will see on South Asian or Indian clothes, and some others resemble elaborate bridal henna (mehndi) designs.

Whatever it is, the effect is stunning. It is almost a shame to have to cut into such a spectacular cake, but you can be sure your guests will remember it long after it's been diminished into their stomachs!

Take a look at these ethnic inspired wedding cakes, and if you inspired, copy the picture and take it to your wedding cake maker and see if they can't make you one just like it :)
